I read this book whilst I was heavily pregnant ,not the kind of book you normally read when you are quite vulnerable like I was, but for some reason I was really drawn to read it. It is now doing the rounds with my family and friends.
It is about Imaculee's experience of the 1994 Rwandan genocide, where she hid sliently in a cramped bathroom with seven other women huddled together in a local pastor’s house for 91 days! During this horrific ordeal, Immaculée lost most of her family, but she survived to share the story and her miraculous transition into forgiveness and a profound relationship with God.
It is truly moving, her courage and strength. I was lucky enough to see her on 60 minutes, a few weeks ago - what an extraordinary women. We were shown where they hid and where the genocide took place.
